Philosophy

Summary of the course

The WJEC Eduqas GCSE Religious Studies (Route A) is a thought-provoking course that challenges students to engage with "the big questions" of life, morality, and philosophy. It isn't just about what people believe; it’s about how those beliefs shape the way they live, vote, and treat others in a modern, diverse society.

Religious, Philosophical, and Ethical Studies: You will debate four key themes: Relationships (family/gender), Life and Death (origins of the universe/afterlife), Good and Evil (crime and punishment), and Human Rights (social justice and wealth).

Study of Christianity: An in-depth look at Christian beliefs, teachings, and practices, exploring how they influence modern British life.

Study of a Second Religion: Typically Islam or Judaism, focusing on their core beliefs and how they are practiced in the world today.
